Diamond Rio and Thompson Square is going to be the hottest summer concert in the Region! Fifteen years ago, Diamond Rio’s debut single “Meet in the Middle” went all the way to #1, making them the first country group in history to top the chart with a debut single. They haven’t slowed down since. Diamond Rio has indeed accomplished much, including two compilations worth of hits, gold or platinum sales with each of their studio albums, racked up 13 Grammy nominations, including recently winning a Grammy, 15 consecutive Country Music Association nominations for Vocal Group of the Year, two-time Academy of Country Music and four-time CMA Vocal Group of the Year.  Diamond Rio is, in effect, a family-friendly group of guys with a trailblazing-rock band mentality.
Thompson Square isn’t a real place, exactly. It’s the musical territory staked out by the husband-and-wife duo of Keifer and Shawna Thompson, an exciting and unpredictable area where country meets rock, rough meets smooth and one vagabond heart finds a harmonious common ground with another. Now the rest of us get to discover that magical place, starting with the duo’s new self-titled debut album. They have released their infectious radio smash “Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not”, which is an introduction to the Thompson’s natural chemistry and spirit of romance. Do not miss these shows!
